Trailer 1 breaks the internet
Released a day early after leaking online, the first trailer confirms Vice City and dual protagonists — and smashes YouTube view records within hours.
01 · The world
The state of Leonida
For the first time since 2002, the series returns to Vice City — a neon-soaked metropolis inside the fictional state of Leonida, Rockstar’s modern take on South Florida. Everything below is grounded in official trailers and Rockstar Newswire posts, current as of July 2026. No leaks, no datamines — ever.
Vice City & beyond
A living modern Vice City anchors a larger state — beaches, keys, swamps and small towns rendered at a density the series has never attempted.
Two leads, one story
Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval — a duo in the outlaw tradition, introduced across two official trailers with a crime-story heart.
A series first
Lucia is the first female protagonist of a mainline Grand Theft Auto title — a milestone thirteen years in the making.

She
Lucia Caminos
Trailer 1 opens with Lucia behind bars at Leonida Penitentiary — and ends with her planning what comes next. Fresh out and done playing by anyone else’s rules, she is the series’ first female lead and the engine of GTA VI’s story.
He
Jason Duval
A small-timer from the Leonida Keys introduced in Trailer 2, Jason wants a quiet life that keeps not working out. When he crosses paths with Lucia, the two become partners in every sense.
03 · The road to launch
Thirteen years, six milestones
Trailer 2 & the first delay

The date is locked
Rockstar pins the launch to a single day: November 19, 2026. Take-Two calls it “the most anticipated entertainment property of all time.”
